Three Trees Take a Walk
by Joan Luther

The wooden seats were too well-rooted.
Our creativity was restless.
An adventure beyond pleine air must unfold.

As the path and river meander together,
We found the perfect spot,
Well-composed, perfect for a photo shoot.

We posed for artists, those who paint
And anyone who captured our
Essence and colors in Saturday’s autumn light.

A taste of river water saturated our palate
While posing seductively
With flora, fauna, and wilderness views.

When the visitor landed and cast a vote
For his favorite one of us,
We bowed our limbs for his fluttering display.

With our full colored tresses, branching
Out of our usual comfort
To capture a view of nature’s brushes.
