how i dream
by MFrostDelaney

a lake so calm, where barely ripples run
reflecting forest towers lush and strong
defending me from hubbub of the world …

a sky where sun is filtered just enough
protecting me from fry-pan scorching heat
and wrapping me in goose-down-comfort warmth …

a shore with rocks so smooth, inviting rest
with one a foot-stool-length away to prop
my feet, lean comfortably against my knees …

position so amenable to stretch
a pole with passive bait, pretext to fish
but really, simply relaxation mode …

the whole scene so enveloping serene,
at tree bends to embrace, covets my calm
