Beyond Reflections
by Paulette Demers Turco
Reflections live in two dimensions–
incomplete, it may be said,
dependent on how light is spread.
This may be true for non-reflections,
or reality, when dread
of future unknowns breaks connections;
we lose our depth. Our best intentions,
dreams, and loves remain unfed.
Even though this window seems
to hold beyond, beware its shine.
Each imaged book is just a spine
from ambient collected beams.
But turn around. Look straight ahead.
Delve into pages yet unread.
