Splendor's Door
by Antoinette Kopperfield

The moonlight sleeps in morning rain
as winter feels a season's change
A flower buds above the stem -
while mating birds do nest again

The rose has beauty words can't say-
a garden queen-she does portray
among the clusters of her kind -
majestic blooms now in their prime

The dandelion seeds in wind -
while caterpillars shed their skin -
so butterflies can fly once more
above the field of splendor's door
