True hearts have eyes and ears, no tongues to speak
by Edward Dyer (1543-1607)

I No Longer Know What’s True
by Candace Turner

Broken promises have polluted our hearts
I never thought I’d have
so many scowling eyes
mock my stand on issues, and
fail to recognize their whispers fall on deaf ears
Is it so hard to accept a “no”
without wagging tongues?
Jealousy and ignorance attempt to
negate the different opinions I dare to speak
