Rain for Arthur Sze
by Lenora Rain-Lee Good

The dame and her gander stand in the rain–

poets are born today, give praise–

there is always time to read poetry–

hands of deaf children dance like small birds in flight–

poets die this day, mourn–

everyone brings their own story to what they read–

let the poem lead as being written–

recognize loss, remember, cry, gather healing–

ducks swim the quicksilver pond–

disparate lines, open lines–

frolic with words–

poetry is water for the parched soul–
