The Air is Charged with Blessing and Does Bless
by Lana Hechtman Ayers

Even after so many years
the mollusk shell
when pressed to the shell
of my outer ear,
still whispers.

Unable
to discern any words
but the wind flowing
within
I translate simply:

all happiness is a choice,
never the wrong one.

The title is a line from May Sarton’s “The Work of Happiness”
