The Girl, The Bears, The Live Feed
by Lenora Rain-Lee Good

Upon the walls of the girl’s room–
posters of Smokey the Bear, forests,
rivers, nature.

Upon a chair in the corner, the small
child’s chair–a Smokey Bear, a well-
loved & thread bare crib bear.

Upon the mantel in the living room,
a photo of the now-grown girl
in her Ranger’s uniform.

Upon his perch atop the falls
Grumbleskins sits, waits for salmon
to leap to him.

Upon a chair in the corner office,
our ranger smiles at her bears
watches the live feed cam.
