A Gentle Reminder
by Howard Osborne

Even the land in winter has something to show
As in some ways, fields are like a model’s skin
Made up and powdered, yet still is a pale look
Despite the effect and all concentration it took
Like Nature, as winter’s cold may finally begin
As a gentle reminder, A dusting of fresh snow
A thin layer, like the white paper we all know
But more like a soft sheet protecting the earth
It lays there sparkling in the pale morning sun
Telling us of the new hope that has now begun
And then to remind us all of all its true worth
As a gentle reminder, A dusting of fresh snow
