Indian Relocation 1956
An acrostic golden shovel poem
by Sharmagne Leland-St. John

Let us go then you and I
from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S. Eliot

They said they would not let
Siblings be parted but they separated us
Even though they promised they made us go
Live in different homes then
I found you
Over in the next town and
Thus I vowed we'd always be together, Sister, you and I
