Taos Winter

The snow fell
last night
covered the earth
in cottony white.

Sagebrush once
a verdant green
covered in snow
cannot be seen.

This carpet of white
from cirrus clouds
shrouds the land
and growing things.

The snow it clings
to bud and branch
camouflaging
our Taos ranch.
