Cancer Survivors Celebrate in Early July
by Marcel Aime Duclos

We live the longest days of the year.
The sun slips early out of the night,
eager to warm the chill of our being.

We recall the cold days of our winter,
that season when days slowed
and darkness ruled.

Yet, in the rhythm of the stars,
the earth danced between the sun and moon.
Without much notice, the days

gifted more moments of warmth and light.
The biting weight of darkness lightened.
We feel a change in the air.
