Lavender Simple Syrup
from the kitchen of Sharmagne Leland-St.John

½ cup Granulated white sugar
½ cup Boiling hot water
2 tablespoons Culinary (dried) lavender

Pour the sugar into a heat-proof bowl and pour the boiling water over it. Stir continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Stir in the dried culinary lavender. Let it steep uncovered for 15 - 20 minutes.
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the lavender buds. Cool the syrup before using.
Pour into a bottle of jar.  Can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
