Fisherman's Dream
by  Robert Rydeen

early evening dusk
from murky depths
slow tranquil glide
tiny pupa emerges
wings translucent
gossamer,
drying in summer air
danger lurks...
beware
hatching all around
concentric
swirling
dimples
newborn soon airborne
dryfly
imitation
flashing silver
strike!
glistening green back
gentle pool erupts
aquamarine
shimmering
spray
tight lines
taut
wide grinning smile
time stands eternal
sunset colors reflect
copper golden light
deepening the night
air whirls
alive
clear limestone water
mountain meadow
stream
fragrant forest scents
insect covered surface
fish the nymph
match the hatch
right into the ring
is the rise
rainbow
brook
brown
fisherman's
fondest
dreams
