ABOUT THE BOOK:
Mutterings Of An Unsettled Mind is a collection of poems on the reflections of a life lived, and still living. Some are observations, some are comments. Most are on the remembering of moments, wishing for them to have lasted longer, but happy that they still linger, even if some are with regret.
ADVANCE PRAISE:
As I read through the poems within this remarkable collection, I began to discern a profile or portrait of my own life. “When I Was Young,” returned me to a time when the world, “was new and fresh, / needing to be seen / for the first time.” I was exuberant then … Dan Fitzgerald’s poems remind me that I can be so again. Because of this poet’s mutterings life is fresh; life is new. These poems are far more than mere mutterings … they are nourishment for hungry souls. –Michael Escoubas, author of Monet in Poetry and Paint

FROM THE BOOK:
Secret by Dan Fitzgerald
I have lost the day to the mindless duties once thought as important, wasting moments lasting for hours. Too many of those, I tell myself, trying to remember the pauses of taking a breath to follow a cloud or to look at a bird building a nest. That is the secret, I think now, I must use the time I have not worrying what others are suggesting but finding all the bits and pieces I need to make a life I can live in with love.
