Rheinstein Windmill House Overlooking Ditch Plains in Montauk, NY ~Ben Kasazkow

Rheinstein Windmill House Overlooking Ditch Plains
by Wesley D. Sims

No need for a clock, not a place to rush.
There’s a multi-room house with many windows
by a field of red and brown grass and brush.
A single blade of the windmill shows.
By a small cluster of short green trees,
it sits alone on a prominent knoll.
Apparent ocean as far as you can see.
You could hike to the beach for a morning stroll.
That sturdy rock structure with a red tile roof,
a storm fast approaches, better stay inside.
Red and dark clouds fill the sky as proof
not a time to walk by a turbulent tide.
Get a book to read, poetry will do.
Soon the weather will clear and the sky’ll be blue.
