Then the Bees Came
by Shariffa Keshavjee

Then the bees came
Gossamer wings body of black and gold
From bloom to bloom gathering gold
In a cavity so special just for the gold

Then the bees came
To make honey a hue of gold
What is this honey nectar of gold?
It is the taste we crave sweet gold

Then the bees came
To make us wax so pure
From leaf to leaf for sure
Foot pads gather wax pure

Then the bees came
They made homes of hives so gold
Chamber upon chamber unfold
To protect Queen Bee no crown of gold

Then came the bees
A sign of prosperity and plenty harmony
Working tirelessly always in harmony
Showing us all fruits of harmony

When the bees come
Rejoice and be glad in it’s coming
Can you now hear its humming
It is a sign miracle is coming

Yes, the bees are coming
