Hush Before Spring
by MFrostDelaney

The snow lays on the ground like satin sheets,
is rumpled from the wind in spots
and shimmers at the sun’s near-spring caress.

The wind is not quite tranquil yet, a breath
that whispers in a lullaby,
Sweet dreams, enfolded in the sunshine’s rays.

The sun envelopes sheets and tucks around
the edges where the snow meets ground –
Do not disturb, suspends within the air.
