Laundry Choreography
by Gay Williford

Garments on a clothesline blow wildly
as the wind visits each
creating mystical shapes
that balloon, flap and dance
to its erratic tempos–
which could be a lively boogie, swing or twist!
The bright sun baptizes each item
while also lending sparkle to a nearby stream
and the tin roof of a distant home.
What a fine day for outside drying
and the laundress smiles as she
avails herself of this sunny opportunity!
