The rose is the heart when it's in bud..
then it opens to reveal the beauty within.

Pansies in spring, with their little lion faces,
laugh away the cold and end the gray days.

Daffodils and daisies are children at play…
bringing joy and sunlight to the soul.

Lantana gathers itself into little bouquets
of blue, red, orange and yellow..

Queen Anne’s lace spreads her work in the sun
as black-eyed Susans crowd 'round to see.

But, above all, the rose is the heart when it's in bud
and its mystery is in the love it conveys.
