The wheelbarrow done with summer’s work
Now bundles leaves from village kirk
The adjacent forest floor
littered in rainbow’s colours galore
The scent of autumn wafts on frigid air
No earthly aroma can ever compare
Winter is on its way …
Bring out the mittens, scarves and sleigh!
Soon snowdrops shall nod their bell-shaped heads
Their delicate fragrance hovering over snowy beds
We hold these childhood memories dear
At midnight we ring in yet another New Year!
