Mid-autumn
by Sharmagne Leland-St.John

The whispered breath of autumn
Now that summer's gone
The wind ushers in the equinox with a murmured hymn

Creeping morning fog shall dislimn
Now the chilly night is done
The whispered breath of autumn

Piles of burning leaves emit a smoky column
I stand to watch alone
The wind ushers in the equinox with a murmured hymn

I stand head bent and solemn
As if I'm made of stone
The whispered breath of autumn

Winter bedamn!
Leave me here to swone
The wind ushers in the equinox with a murmured hymn

Leaves raked into a medimn
Summer's birds have flown
The wind ushers in the equinox with a murmured hymn
The whispered breath of autumn
