Notable November

Whispered breaths of autumn
hint at coming change and chills.
Leaves trickle down from treetops
scattering about my feet–
confetti thrown at fall’s departure
in celebration of this seasonal delight.
Soft breezes blow them about
creating a mosaic carpet
that sweeps me away to exotic places!
How enchanting is a woodland walk
that jiggles my ready imagination …
November seems an open gateway
ushering in winter and its
imposed refashioning.
