The Night Is a Cup We Drink
by W. Wayne Lin

It is a party.
A celebration of an anniversary.
Heaven is helping Earth to recall
page after page of memories.
It has been a long time,
hard to remember every detail:
golden sunlight,
reddish-purple night,
dazzling scarlet dress,
everyone raises wine glass,
with earnest blessings and praise.
A colorful soirée,
burgundy was the choice,
and the rest of yellow, orange,
bronze, golden-brown …
in the dark green background,
accented by the brilliant veil.

Young, old, patter and chat
as sun embraces the whole mountain.
