Painting by Katherine Davis
Terrestrial Meditation
by Michael Escoubas
Might this painting be
an image of the artist herself …
needing to be everything
that roils within her heart …
a heart, fully free, bursting
and bulging with life,
sky expanding, exploding
with orange and yellow hues
and the waves exulting
in praise as the drunken
sea rages in response
to the song the artist sings?
