KATHERINE DAVIS
Katherine Davis is a painter, liturgical dancer, and writer from California. She creates the imagery in her paintings as daydreams inspired by Mother Nature and fractal geometry. Katherine paints with a notion about noise and space in quantum mechanics: a quiet and empty space does not exist anywhere in our cosmos, but the vibrations of the bodies of water and sound of every animal is our rhythm and peace— if we slow down to hear it. Katherine’s current watercolor and pastel series is named the Song of the Wild. Passages from the Spanish Bible inspire her about eternity and humanity. Divine presence of creation on Earth influences her depiction of the sky, sun, and rainbows. Katherine also writes poems and makes short films. She graduated from UCLA and Yale University with a BA and a Master’s degree. Katherine practices art against trauma-induced schizophrenia which she recovers from with prayer and paintings.
