“Autumn Tangle” (1920) by William Henry Holmes

Letting Go
by MFrostDelaney

The air is cool but sun is warm this day.
It permeates the forest, beacon bright,
shows how the leaves have turned from green to gold
and how some stubborn foliage keeps hold
of its last threads of life, until the night
comes on. But not just yet. There’s still a ray
of hope in warmth as autumn closes in.

So let’s step through this stage with gentle moves,
inhale the musk that rises from below,
appreciate the time that’s left to grow
some wisdom in our deepest mindset grooves.
Invite epiphany, replace the din
of hurt. Like woodland scenes embrace the change,
let seasons pass. The heart will rearrange.
