The World Will Not Be Silenced

The world will not silenced
by henious acts, terrorists
or by concern and understanding
that its inhabitants lack.

The world will not be silenced
in turmoil and strife
nor by mass destruction of life.

The world can not silenced
by devastation and lamentation,
but for now ?
The world is silenced
by still and silent skies.

And too, this world is silenced
by great emptiness of disbeliving eyes.

Let this world be silenced, but by prayer.

A commemorative poem written for today, the day of the celebration my
daughter's birth. May we continue to reach out to those around us and share
our hopes, dreams and goodwill.
