A lighthouse and cabin anchor the scene
with background of clouds in white and gray.
Table of the plateau covered with green,
swabbed pastel colors accent this day.
Rim of peninsula edged with a skirt,
narrow beach goes around like a band,
banks cut straight into pinkish dirt
make a driveway of solid smooth sand.
Vast sea, blue water make a placid bay,
silo like a missile poised to launch into space.
Looks like nobody has come here to stay.
Thoreau could find it an inspiring place.
Lovely landscape, stunning sky offer plenty of reasons
to come here and ponder and spend a whole season.
