"A Michigan Lighthouse on a Montauk Shore” ~ Painting by Sharmagne Leland-St. John

Pastels
by MFrostDelaney

Pink dabbed with peach
pale blue washing the shore
receding from tawny brown
beige stretching out against ocher cliffs
topped by fading-fertile green …

and reigning over all is a dome
hinting wan amethyst
the ebbing caught in a moment
ashen-gray clouds
morphing into a blush
sifting into a lemon puff
shifting to an-almost sky blue
wrapping a shore house and its light
that will beam after this palette
of delicate illumination
fades into dark.
