Suddenly the Albatross Squawked in pain!  Max had come charging in all snarly, gnarly, growling and nipping, and scared that big old bird away!

"You almost got yourself eaten!" scolded an annoyed Max,  "You know how much Tara loves you... even more than me... so I must protect you because I do not want to see her sad." 

"Why do you seem to dislike me so, is it because I am a turtle and you are a dog?" asked Luna shyly... she always wondered  why Max didn't like her and she felt now was a good time to ask.

"Because" said Max sadly as he looked down," since you came to stay, Tara no longer loves me, always talking to and playing with you. It's as if she's forgotten all about me."

"I'm sure she still loves you, but I know what I can do..." Says Luna thoughtfully "When ever Tara comes to play I'll pretend to be asleep, and she'll become bored with me."

" You would do that for me?" asked Max suddenly amazed at the sweetness in this little turtle.
 
"Well after all you did just save my life!" say Luna "We should have talked long ago, things would have been better "

Max brings Luna back home, and gently drops her into the tank.
"Thank you Max" says Luna.
"You're most welcome my friend! " answers Max.

When Tara came home, the first thing she did was to give Max a great big hug, and tell him how much she loved him.  Luna felt very happy for Max as she looked on

As Luna watched Tara and Max play, her eyes became sleepier and sleepier, until she could barely keep them open.

"What a wonderful place this world is!" Thought Luna, as she floated happily off to sleep.
